Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how MyRepsCount works, what it tracks, and what it costs.

Do I need a smartwatch or wearable?

No. All you need is your phone. Prop it where the camera can see you and the app counts every rep — or skip the camera entirely and log your sets manually.

How accurate is the rep counter?

The on-device pose model recognizes good-form reps consistently for the supported exercises. Lighting and framing matter more than the phone — most modern iPhones and Androids work well.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. All camera processing happens on your device. The app never uploads, streams, or stores video.

Which exercises are supported?

Over 60 movements across push (six pushup variations, chest press, shoulder press, chest flys, thrusters), pull (pullups, overhand and reverse-grip variations, rows, pull-downs, back flys, band pull-aparts), lower body (squats, sumo and goblet squats, Bulgarian split squats, step-back/curtsy/side lunges, Romanian and single-leg deadlifts, bridges, kettlebell swings), arms and shoulders (curls, hammer curls, tricep extensions, lateral raises, cleans, clean + press), core (sit-ups, reverse crunch, Russian twists, dead bugs, bird dogs, side bends, side-lying leg lifts), and conditioning (burpees, high knees, jumping jacks). Single-side movements track left and right separately. New movements are added regularly. Beyond automatic counting, the full catalog has nearly 300 exercises you can log manually — including custom exercises you create.

Is the app free?

Yes. Download and use core features for free. No subscription required for rep counting, custom workouts, or smart workout generation.

Does it work in low light?

Best results come from even, indirect light on your full body. Very dark scenes or strong backlighting will reduce accuracy. Position the camera so your full range of motion stays in frame.

Can I build custom workouts?

Yes. Create your own routines with reps, time-based sets, or interval formats like Tabata and AMRAP. You can also let the workout generator build a workout based on your goals, equipment, and time.

Can I log workouts manually?

Yes. Start an empty workout and add exercises and sets as you train — with weights in lb or kg, rep-range targets like 8–12, and supersets. Automatic counting and manual logging work side by side, so exercises the camera can't count still land in your workout history.

Is there support for trainers?

Yes. Trainers can build programs and track client progress. Visit the trainers area for details.
